Drypoint Printing

Drypoint Plate

Final Print One
Final Print Two

The process of Drypoint printing is exactly the same as Collagraph printing, with only one difference being that the image which you wish to print is scratched into a aluminium metal plate. It is important when creating a plate in this way, that the scratches go deep into the metal, to allow the area to print clearly. Once the image is scratched in as you would like the plate is then ready to print, this is the same process as Collagraph (see previous posts). When choosing the colours for the final prints, I decided that stronger colours would contrast better with the imagery and make the prints stand out more.
